Pervasive access, freedom of expression and easy usage have contributed to the popularity of blogging. WMC International Travel Blog competition is an initiative to capture the influential insights and true reflections of Malayalees, their travel experience in the form of blogs and share with the international community.
The international travel blog competition is organized by World Malayalee Council (WMC) Singapore chapter, as a part of WMC's 6th World Malayalee Conference 22-24, August 2008. WMC was established in 1995, in New Jersey (USA) and spread all over world with 6 regions and over 30 provinces. The mission of WMC is to build a global Malayalee community to enhance communication and cooperation among malayalees and continue the connection through generations maintaining the Malayalee identity for years to come.

To document lived experiences of travel to Kerala and rediscovering Malayalee culture and heritage |

We hope to achieve this by collecting a diversity of travel-related blogs that vary in terms of destinations in Kerala, cost, mode of transport and duration. This ponders to different travel interests and may also encourage trying out other forms of traveling which is novel to them. |

To promote sharing of personal and unique experiences and encourage writing in Malayalam or English on topics related to Malayalee Hertiage & Culture among Youth |

Blogging will encourage a no-holds-barred atmosphere of providing anecdotes and tips to the readers. More over the international Malaylaee community can also learn from the unique experience sharing personal reflections. |

The travelogue blog (referred as travel blog) can be a series of travel experience with in Kerala and can be English or Malayalam. |

A minimum of 5 blog entries need to be there for qualifying as a successful contestant during the period |

All candidates need to design their blogs in any of the blogging platforms and should provide the blog URL to the WMC during the online registration |

All blogs which do not confine to moral standards ( having sexual, sexist violence, communal or racist contents ) will be screened out from the competition and the judges will have the sole authority to ban such entries from the competition ( as well as future competitions) |

Bloggers should follow relevant international regulations of copyright and intellectual property rights |
The panel of juries includes representatives of National University Singapore and Leading Malayalam Media personalities.
